Dangerous products policy violation

The product falls into a category Google doesn't allow in Shopping ads or listings — weapons and ammunition, explosives and fireworks, recreational drugs and paraphernalia, tobacco and vaping products, certain knives, and similar goods. Affected items are disapproved, and repeated or egregious violations can put the whole account at risk.

Common causes

  • ·Selling products in a prohibited category (e.g. weapons, ammunition, fireworks, tobacco, e-cigarettes)
  • ·Borderline products misclassified by Google's automated checks
  • ·Accessory or lookalike products matching prohibited patterns (e.g. drug paraphernalia)

How to fix it

  1. 01Check the product against Google's dangerous products policy — some adjacent items are allowed (e.g. safety-focused gun accessories like locks)
  2. 02If the product genuinely falls under the policy, remove it from your feed — repeated violations lead to warnings with a 7–28 day window, and severe cases to immediate suspension
  3. 03If you believe the item was misclassified, correct the title/description that may have triggered the match and request a review or appeal
  4. 04Account reviews typically take around 7 business days
