invalid_gtinDisapproval
Invalid GTIN in unsupported format
One or more submitted GTINs aren't formatted correctly. Valid GTINs are 8, 12, 13, or 14 digits, contain only numerals, and pass GS1 check-digit validation. Affected products are disapproved until corrected.
Common causes
- ·The value contains characters that aren't numerals (letters, spaces, dashes)
- ·Too many or too few digits — GTINs are 8, 12, 13, or 14 digits
- ·A mistyped digit failing check-digit validation
- ·A made-up or internal SKU submitted in the gtin field
How to fix it
- 01Take the GTIN from the product packaging or the manufacturer's data — never invent one
- 02Verify questionable values with a GS1 check digit calculator
- 03If the product has no GTIN, remove the value and set identifier_exists to false instead of padding a fake number
- 04Fix affected items in 'Needs attention' or in your source data and re-upload; changes take 24–72 hours to reflect
