incorrect_product_identifierDisapproval
Incorrect product identifier (identifier_exists set to false)
You submitted identifier_exists as false, but Google's systems believe this product does have a GTIN — usually because identical products from other sellers carry one. The product won't show in Shopping ads or free listings until the identifier data is corrected.
Common causes
- ·identifier_exists set to false as a blanket default in the feed tool
- ·Reselling branded products without entering their barcodes
- ·A shop-system plugin exporting identifier_exists=false whenever the barcode field is empty
How to fix it
- 01Look up the real GTIN on the product packaging or via the manufacturer (GS1's GEPIR tool can verify ownership)
- 02Either set identifier_exists to true and provide the valid GTIN, or remove the identifier_exists attribute entirely
- 03Only keep identifier_exists=false for products that genuinely have no manufacturer-assigned identifier (e.g. handmade or vintage goods)
- 04Re-upload corrected data; allow 24–72 hours
